Mavic's Ksyrium wheelset has been the benchmark training / racing wheelset for years running, and it's easy to see why. With the Elite model, Maxtal aluminum rims use Mavic's sophisticated Inter Spoke Milling Four-Dimensions (ISM 4D) process that shaves material from the rim's lower bridge, lowering inertia without decreasing strength. Fore-drilling brings down the weight even more while eliminating the need for a rim strip. The asymmetric rear rim drilling reduces dish for stronger performance, and the UB controlled brake track provides reliable stopping power in all riding conditions.
Mavic uses bladed stainless steel straight-pull bladed spokes laced radially front and rear drive side and 2X rear non-drive side. 18 front spokes; 20 rear spokes. Alloy hub bodies and flanges house smooth and durable QRM+ cartridge bearings. The FTS-L rear hub gets stainless steel reinforcements that make for a strong, lightweight hub with great energy transfer.
The included Yksion Pro tires are also specifically designed for each application, the front features a GripLink tire for excellent grip in the corners, and the rear PowerLink tire is designed for speed and responsiveness. Both tires feature a 127 TPI casing with a Kevlar breaker in the front and Nylon in the back for a balance of ride quality and great flat resistance. Both tires are 700c x 25mm (25-622 ISO).
Available with Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10/11 or Campagnolo 9/10/11 compatible freehub bodies. The claimed weight for the wheels is 680 g front and 870 g rear, not including tires.
